About the position
We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Arabic Localization Manager to join our team and drive the quality of our Arabic-language experience. This person will play a key role in applying the best localization practices to ensure our product speaks naturally and authentically to users in Qatar.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders (Product, Content Designers, Software engineers) to launch a successfully localized product that aligns with users' expectations
- Develop a localization strategy to transition from Modern Standard Arabic (MSA) towards colloquial Arabic with elements of Qatari Arabic, balancing user experience, brand voice, and product consistency
- Put this strategy into practice by reviewing and rewriting Arabic content across the product
- Translate and adapt UI copy from English into Arabic, ensuring linguistic, cultural, and contextual accuracy
- Optimize localization workflows by leveraging technology to make translation production simpler, more repeatable, and more transparent
- Develop, maintain, and advocate for Arabic Tone of Voice guidelines and language standards across all product areas
- Conduct linguistic and functional research of localized content within digital systems
Requirements
- Native Arabic speaker with a Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD degree in Arabic Language, Linguistics, Translation, or a related field
- Advanced English (spoken and written)
- Strong understanding of Qatari cultural nuances, language-specific challenges, and regulatory requirements in different markets
- 2+ years of experience in product localization, content editing, localization management, or a similar role
- Advanced Lokalise user or any similar translation management platform
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to balance multiple projects simultaneously
